Moulin Rouge House, originally known as the historic Hunt House, was purchased in 2018 with the intention of restoring the home to its original Queen Anne style beauty. The owners have a passion for hospitality, creating beautiful spaces and preserving history. Named after the Moulin Rouge Beauty Shop, located in the home’s parlor from 1940-2015, the home was originally built in 1886 by the owners of the Mankato Free Press, Lewis and Lisbeth Hunt. The home features a spiral staircase inside the turret, decorative inlaid wood floors, stamped metal ceiling tiles, stained-glass windows and a leaded glass bay window. The artistry that can be found in the walls of the Moulin Rouge House is something that cannot be replicated.
The Moulin Rouge House offers three rooms and guests are treated to a continental breakfast on weekdays and a four-course breakfast on the weekends.
Chankaska Creek Ranch & Winery private wine tasting: A dedicated wine educator will walk you through a tasting of five hand-crafted artisan wines. The tasting includes an artisan cheese, and a dry-cured meat platter to pair with our award-winning wines. Wine Tasting must be scheduled in advance.
